## Bad Casting Calls Get Bad Responses A casting call that says “Need actors and technicians for an upcoming Tamil film. Good pay. Contact for details” will attract exactly the people you don’t want. ### What the best crew actually look for - Clear project scale and genre - Specific department or role requirements - Shoot dates (even approximate) - Location base (Chennai, Coimbatore, etc.) - Rate range or at least “industry standard” - Whether previous work with the director or DOP is a plus ### The Rosterwoods formula that works When posting a call, include: - Project type (feature, web series, ad, short) - Department + experience level needed - Number of shoot days and rough dates - Any special requirements (night shoots, stunts, etc.) - Link to the production house or director’s previous work The more specific you are, the better the applications you receive. ### The follow-up advantage Once someone applies with their CineCard, you can immediately see their verified credits instead of asking for references. This alone saves hours per role. Vague calls attract desperate people. Clear calls attract professionals. Write better calls. Get better crew.
