## The First Impression Problem In a year when 150+ Tamil films release, the poster and title have to do an enormous amount of work in a very short time. ### What makes a great Tamil film poster - Immediate genre clarity — you should know what kind of film it is in 2 seconds - Strong typography that works in both Tamil and English - Emotional resonance without being generic - Distinctive color palette that stands out on a theatre wall ### The title design challenge Tamil film titles now have to work across: - Theatrical posters and trailers - OTT thumbnails - Social media shares - TV promos This means the title needs to be legible at thumbnail size and memorable in a 10-second trailer. ### How designers approach it The best designers start with the film's emotional core, not its plot. What feeling should someone have when they see this poster? Work backward from there. This is a craft that gets too little attention. The people who do it well are some of the most valuable collaborators on any film.
